Venue: Neo’s Sports Club, Peyia
Nicos Protopapas Jennie Rook Caroline Hartman John Winslow
Rich Palmer Stewart Waddell John Goodwin
Greetings scribes, nice to be back from dreary UK. Suffered first cold in years and going by the low attendance this week, I was not the only one. Thanks to Stewart for taking the minutes during my absence.
A few minutes into the meeting we were surprised by a guest member Catrina, on holiday from Estonia, who appeared at the door then introduced a male friend, Phillip from Wales and Canada. Phillip was interested in writing an autobiography. They stayed for a short while to listen to a few readings.
We welcome everyone who is interested in writing, to drop in to our meetings, just as these two did.
Murder by default - a murder story
The Amateur Crime – a crime story
The Spell – a fantasy story
Coffee break: 11:00 - 11:15
The Beast– a murder mystery
The Massive Egotist – a murder story
A Murder of crones – a murder story
A Poor relationship – a story
My little sat nav - a poem
If you recall Mary Shelley had Victor Frankenstein build his monster out of spare parts harvested from the bodies of criminals and their previous owners affected how the creature behaved.
Imagine someone who inherits an organ or limb from a dead donor and starts to take on the traits of the earlier incarnation. Write a short story or poem on this premise. It could also be widened to include inheriting an item of clothing, or a wig or even a piece of property if you prefer something less gory.
As usual try to keep to 500-800 words if you can.
Thanks to all who attended.
Next meeting: Thursday 16 March at 10.00 a.m. at Neo’s Sports Club, Peyia.
