Venue: Zoom

Present:

John Goodwin Bob Barker Jennie Rook Nikki Burrows David Greensmith

Apologies from Caroline Harman-Smith and Dee Leigh.

Greetings Scribes,

As always, we hope that you and your closest are healthy and safe.

This week’s online meeting was held on Zoom and virtually. The above screenshot was taken at the end of the meeting with everyone's permission. A photo won't be taken every meeting, it's just to see how Zoom looks and show how much fun we're having. We got John G back in full this week. Well done everyone, we are all finally getting to grips with the workings of Zoom (check out where Bob is, really?)

Please note that the homework files/readings will only be available to the attendees of the meetings, unless you request by email, for them to be sent to you.

Readings:

John: Based on last week’s homework – Goldie – based on a hooker’s experience through the Covid-19 outbreak.

Nikki: Based on last week’s homework: – Ambition in a pandemic - an impressive, well-thought out poem based on the Covid-19 pandemic. All members advised Nikki to post it to her Facebook page.

Jennie read for Caroline (who submitted her work by email): Based on last week’s homework: The Wizard of Chaos – another great story. All enjoyed listening to it.

Rick: Based on last week’s homework: – Little Red – a lovely, funny story about little red riding hood set in the COvid-19 outbreak.

Bob: read some snippets he’d written but not a full homework story/poem. His book launch was this week.

David: Based on last week’s homework: – Fairy Tales – lots of short, stories in the reporting style, which was very amusing and cleverly interpreted.

Jennie: Based on last week’s homework: – Cinderella in Lockdown – a longer fairy-tale.

Rick: Read his Chapter 2 of The Missing POW – his latest novel work in progress. Plenty of feedback was given by the group.

A discussion was had about the idea of holding a meeting with Bob’s UK writing group with PWG. Attendees agreed it was a fun idea and worth a try one week. Bob will look further into it.

Coffee break: Throughout the meeting

Homework:

Write a story or poem entitled: ‘Post Lockdown’ or use the prompt: ‘After the Lockdown was over, the first thing I did was….’

For those attending the call, please upload your piece to the PWG Zoom Group (when you receive the invitation and the meeting is opened), or any other piece you would like feedback on.

Next meeting will be on: Thursday 16 April on Zoom.

Thanks to all who attended, stay healthy, safe and happy writing.
