Apologies from Caroline Harman-Smith and Dee Leigh.
Greetings Scribes,
As always, we hope that you and your closest are healthy and safe.
This week’s first May, online meeting was held solely on Zoom. We are on day 4 of the Cyprus lockdown easing. We had plenty of readings from last week’s homework.
Readings:
John: Based on last week’s homework: The Day Time Stood Still – an adapted piece to meet the change of style theme of the homework.
Rick: Based on last week’s homework: Flies – a laconic piece of writing from Rick. Great use of descriptive verbs.
Nikki: Based on last week’s homework: The Queen’s Speech – A story that Nikki had written in 2013 and is somewhat prophetic to where we are in 2020, very creepy and sinister.
Jennie: Lockdown A-Z – a poem using the alphabet for the start of each line. Bob found an error in ‘I’ which has been corrected. Good spot, Bob.
Bob: Based on last week’s homework: The Stalking – a story based on the tale of Jack and the Beanstalk.
Rick: Chapter 4 – Roman Roads – the continuation of Rick’s travelogue/guide.
Nikki announced that she will have her first draft of The Zeus Factor completed in the next 3 weeks. Great effort by Nikki during Lockdown. Much praise and support was given by the group.
Readings:
John: Prologue to The Magnetic Pole – John started to read his prologue but got disconnected so he will send it to Jennie to distribute for group feedback during this week.
