Minutes of the meeting 11 January 2018

Venue: Neos Sports Club, Pegeia.

Present: John Goodwin, Jennie Rouke, Beryl Lowe, Caroline Harman-Smith Rich Palmer & guest Sian Williams.

Greetings scribes, l must inform you that regular member Carol Robb will no longer be attending for the foreseeable future as she has returned to the U.K for family reasons. We send our best wishes.

Tony Samson informs me that he will be returning to the group very soon.

We had the pleasure of meeting a new member, Sian from Tala who introduced herself as a playwright and short story writer. She has self-published story books, a novel, and had plays accepted for theatre, plus she reads at schools. In line with last week’s homework, 'The immortal Gods' she chose a story from her book, 'Disconcerting' which the members found extremely interesting. We look forward to hearing more of her work.

Caroline commenced the readings with a story about the immortal Gods called 'The Committee Meeting'.

John read a story titled 'The trouble with the Gods'

Coffee break 11.0.am to 11.15.am

After the break Sian read another story from her book, titled, 'The Forgotten Wish'

Rich who has taken on a challenge from a friend to write a children’s book about 'Tobie the Roadie', (A Rock-band Roadie), read a story of 2000 words and requested feedback of which he got plenty from Jennie Rook, Beryl Lowe and the other members. He is presently rewriting. It also brought considerable discussion which he welcomed.

This week’s Writing Prompt subject is 'POWER' of any form which gives a lot of scope. Around 500 words please.
